Medicare Rebates
If you have a Medicare card, and you obtain a GP referral (that meets Medicare's referral requirements), you can receive Medicare rebates for up to 10 appointments per calendar year. Medicare rebates of $89.65 per individual appointment. Medicare does not currently rebate couples therapy.
Private Health Rebates
Some private health insurance policies include psychological/ counselling services. The rebate amount varies between companies and policies. You should check your policy inclusions with your health insurance provider, and determine whether they will provide rebates for the services offered.
TAC, WorkSafe & VOCAT
Almagro Psychology may discuss invoicing funding bodies directly for your treatment. Even when an external funding body has agreed to provide funding, gap fees may apply for your appointments.
Psychological Assessments/ Reports
Following the standard provided by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) for the writing of psychological reports (this includes those required for legal matters) fees are approx. $246 per hour, plus GST.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide more than 48 hours notice. Fees apply for cancellations made within the 48 hours prior to a counselling appointment (see below for details).
0 – 24 hours notice: Full fee charged
24 hours – 48 hours notice: 50% of fee charged
More than 48 hours notice: No fee charged
